L_CIO

Combining sensitivity and power is what separates mere beauty from true sublimity in artistic creation. Laercio Schwantes, also known as L_cio, achieves this exceptional synthesis as a musician and talented flutist, making him one of the most captivating figures in Brazilian electronic music. As a complete artist, he composes and produces all his musical journeys, and what journeys they are!

His work explores the intriguing contrast between complex rhythmic-melodic elements and the simplicity of his essence. Celebrated by discerning listeners and adored by passionate dance floors, it's easy to see why he stands out at festivals such as Dekmantel (São Paulo), DGTL (São Paulo), Mysteryland (Chile), Les Escales (France), Time Warp Brazil (twice), and Rock in Rio (twice). He also consistently performs at renowned German venues like Palais de Tokyo, Sisyphos, Salon Zur Wilden Renate, and Robert Johnson, and has thrilled global audiences with three appearances at Boiler Room Brazil. Recently, he showcased his live set in Beijing and Shanghai.

His musical charm has taken him to various locations, including France, Malta, and Lithuania, and to labels such as D.O.C., Soul Clap, Live At Robert Johnson, Perlon, Exploited, Steyoyoke, Get Physical, Archipel (Canada), and Mamba Negra Records. His work has deeply influenced the independent scene that nurtured him and explored the city where he grew up. Notably, he was the only artist to create an authorized remix of a song by Chico Buarque, a Brazilian music icon, with the track “Construção 1971”. In 2018, he released his debut album, “Poema,” through D.O.C. Records, which was acclaimed as one of the best albums of the year by Bravo magazine. In his hometown São Paulo, L_cio is a key figure in the local scene, a dedicated supporter of street culture, and a resident of innovative urban organizations like Carlos Capslock. He is also a promoter of equality and universal access to cultural goods. Additionally, he is the founder and curator of Akt, a festival focused on live acts. Alongside Tessuto, he co-owns the MEMNTGN records label, distributed by Kompakt.

His tireless efforts extend beyond his prolific musical career to the dissemination and promotion of its core values. Throughout his journey, he has collaborated and remixed with producers such as Patrice Baumel, Portable, Francesco Tristano, Nicola Cruz, Joyce Muniz, Blancah, and Wehbba. Beyond the techno scene, L_cio has also worked with artists like Lia Paris, Pablo Vittar, Filipe Massumi, and André Nardi, and was a member and founder of Grupo Teto Preto.

For all these reasons, among many others, it's impossible not to be captivated by a career as solidly promising as his, where artistic evolution and development are so closely intertwined. Or even better, to be a part of it.
